Expert team to assess feasibility

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said Friday that an expert team would go to Myanmar to assess the feasibility of importing gas from that country, Briefing reporters on her talks with Myanmar authorities, she said Myanmar had agreed to take back the remaining Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh . A list of the refugees would be sent to the Myanmar government in consultation with the UNHCR.
Until internal situation in
Myanmar improved the refugees would continue to come, she added.
Dipu Moni said she had fruitful talks with her
Myanmar counterpart on various issues, including demarcation of maritime boundary, border trade and road links.
Asked about
Taiwan 's threat to close down its trade office in Dhaka in absence of Bangladesh government's recognition, she said Bangladesh followed 'one China policy'.
In reply to a question, she said
Bangladesh would reopen its mission in Baghdad shortly and send workers to join the reconstruction of Iraq .
On outstanding bilateral issues with
India , the foreign minister expressed the hope that all bilateral issues, including demarcation of border and sharing the water of common rivers, would be resolved through discussions with the new government in Delhi .
About construction of controversial Tipaimukh Dam by
India , she said a parliamentary team and experts would visit the spot to assess whether the proposed dam would ecologically affect Bangladesh .
Referring to her meetings with
India 's former external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee and external affairs secretary Shiv Shanker Menon, Dipu Moni said India had assured that they would reconsider the project if it would adversely affect Bangladesh .
