KUALA LUMPUR (Herald Malaysia): June 3 proved to be a
memorable date for 110 Myanmar Refugees who were taken on a trip to the
National Zoo. The outing was organized by the PIHD of Christ the Light
Chapel, Desa Jaya Kepong. At 7.30am all the participants along with the
11 volunteers said a short prayer to ensure the day went on without a
hitch.
The participants were divided into eight groups and a volunteer was assigned to each group.
Upon arrival at the National Zoo at 8.30am, the excitement of both the children and adults was hard to conceal. Everyone was thrilled when they were treated to the Multi Animal Show at the Zoo Amphitheatre at 11.00am.
After the show, lunch was provided at the Wild Cafe in the Zoo premises. After that the group went to the reptile centre and the aquarium. By 2.00pm, although tired from a long day under the sun, the volunteers and participants agreed that it had been an enjoyable day.
