Malaysia expresses welcome for aid from NGOs to its education
The Malaysian Education Ministry welcomed support and assistance rendered by non-governmental organizations to education in the country, an Malaysian education ministry said here on Friday.
Many government-linked companies in Malaysia had come forward to adopt government schools, said Malaysian Education Ministry Secretary-General Zulkurnain Awang.
Zulkurnain also said that the Malaysian government did not provide education opportunities to refugee children as this would attract more refugees to come to Malaysia for free education.

However, he said that the Malaysian government supported charitable organizations' and community schools' move to provide education for this group of children.
He also noted that the Malaysian Education Ministry had been paying extra allowances to teachers based at rural and inland areas to retain quality teachers at the outskirts to provide good education to the children.
